Bereavement Support

The Glimmer Project is a child-centred bereavement initiative dedicated to supporting children and young people through the complex emotions associated with death, dying, and loss. Our work combines trauma-informed practice with creative, developmentally appropriate resources that promote emotional expression, resilience, and connection.

We provide a range of supports, including our signature Glimmer Boxes – carefully curated kits offering comfort items, therapeutic resources, and creative activities.

Recognising that children do not grieve in isolation, the Glimmer Project also offers practical guidance and emotional support to the adults in their lives through a wide range of resources and Grief Guides. Whether you’re a parent, teacher, youth worker, or caregiver, we equip you with the knowledge and tools needed to confidently support bereaved young people with sensitivity and compassion.

Our approach is grounded in collaboration, drawing on the voices of young people, families, educators, and mental health professionals. Through this work, we aim to ensure that no child has to face grief alone and that the adults around them are supported too.

Even in the midst of loss, there is always a Glimmer of Hope.
