INTERNSHIPS & STUDENT WORK PLACEMENTS

At Fresh Minds Education (FME), we often host internships and student work placements that give individuals an insight into how a small, mission-driven charity operates as part of our commitment to shared learning and capacity building.

These placements usually involve completing an Action Project that benefits both the student’s career development and the charity’s work.

Interns with FME are expected to:

• Work highly independently, taking responsibility for their own project and time management.

• Balance the competing demands of academic study with their placement commitments through forward planning.

• Contribute meaningfully to our mission: ensuring that no child or young person faces emotional distress or bereavement alone.

• Communicate needs clearly and on time through professional channels.

• Work as part of a collaborative team that relies on shared systems and clear communication rather than duplication. At FME we use tools such as SharePoint, HubSpot, Teams, Microsoft 365, Canva, Google Docs, Groundwire, WordPress, manual indexes and workplans, email, and phone

FME provides:

• Induction training to get you started.

• Opportunities to set personal and professional goals.

• Periodic reviews and check-ins (including university reporting if required).

• Flexible, often hybrid working arrangements, depending on project needs.

Because our office is shared with service delivery and our capacity is limited, we can only host a small number of interns at any one time. Interns will be required to attend the office during open days and work remotely at other times.
