Course Name: Connections Link Life: Emotional health and Suicide Prevention (Awareness & Skills)
Duration: 3.5hrs including a comfort break
Course Description:
This emotional health and suicide prevention education and skills course is aimed at those in workplaces, advice, community, school, and health settings who are in a caregiving role or for those who with a responsibility to reduce emotional distress and prevent suicide.
This course will teach and practice the skills and knowledge needed to identify someone who may be in emotional distress or thinking about suicide, intervene and de-escalate risk through establishing a safety plan.
The course helps you help people in your workplace, organisation, group, church, school or community who may be in emotional distress or having thoughts of suicide get the help and support they need to keep themselves safe.
*Please note: This course has a version available specifically for veterans and the families of veterans. Operation Link Life.
Participants leave with:
- Knowledge of the contributing factors that lead to poor mental health, emotional distress & suicide
- Practical knowledge and skills to implement the Connect 4-Way Helper Model to help reduce overwhelm and save lives.
- Tools, resources, and knowledge of support agencies in your community
- Knowledge of the role of self-care and wellbeing in fortifying mental health and preventing suicide.

Extension: This programme can be extended to include the practice coaching course, Help Life. Help Life offers participants of Link Life an extended session to practice the implementation of the helper model including practicing establishing safe plans in a range of scenarios.
