Connections #OperationLinkLife is a Mental Health Suicide Awareness training for Veterans, their families, and their communities.  The course helps attendees gain a better understanding of the contributing factors that lead to poor mental health, emotional distress, and suicide.  An understanding of the role of mental health and emotions in relation to suicide prevention.  We will help attendees connect 4-ways to a person with thoughts of suicide helping veterans and their family and communities with tools and resources to support their loved ones and their community.  We will also address the vital role of self-care and well-being in fortifying mental health and preventing suicide.

Who is it for?

This course is for everyone.  The course material is accessible to everyone who attends. However, we do advise people to proceed with caution, recognising your own emotional needs given the nature of the content.

What difference are we aiming to make?

 We aim break down barriers and reduce the stigma that surrounds mental health and suicide within the Veteran community and homes, by raising awareness and creating change.  We aim to help people safely explore personal experiences of mental health, suicide, and bereavement of suicide.

This Programme has proved exceptionally successful, with the aim of training Connections #OperationLinkLife Ambassadors to go out into their own Organisations and deliver this vital work supporting the Veteran Community and the families of Veteran’s.

Pre-course requirements

1.Complete the Connections Operation Link Life Application form

2. If successful your place will be confirmed by email from FME and a link will be sent to complete the Connections Operation Link Life Provisional Facilitator Registration through Eventbrite

The Connections Train the Trainer Programme

1.Complete the full 2-days training

2. Receive resources & gain private log on details for the members area

3. Deliver a part of the training on day 2 as part of the assessment and gain feedback

4. Successful candidates sign and return the Connections operation Link Life Facilitator Licence at the 2-day training

5. Successful candidates Receive a ‘Connections Operation Link Life Provisional Facilitator Certificate of Participation’ and invitation to progress towards an Approved Connections Operation Link Life Facilitator after the 2-day training.

Once you have completed the training you will be issued your renewable license allowing you to deliver the Connections Operation Link Life programme within your Organisation (as per FME contract standards).
